Here’s the finished mind map of the physics of plate reverb! The mind map is split into four sections—types of reverb, uses of reverb, reverb parameters, and plate reverb. Types of reverb doubles as a brief history and overview of reverb and its scientific revolution, whereas uses of reverb covers its role in the music industry. The parameters section covers physical parameters such as size and diffusion, analysing its impact on sound. Lastly, there is a section dedicated to plate reverb, one of the most famous and widely used mechanical reverb sources that is frequently mimicked digitally.

That concludes the secondary research for this topic. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be conducting more in-depth primary research on the physics of reverb!
